Texas Traditions

One of the greatest Texas traditions is cute kids and bluebonnets in the Spring. Yesterday, my dear friend Amber and I (along with a new friend, Diane) took our babies out to a great patch near Independence, TX, and took lots and lots of pics! Amber's baby, Carson, is a cutie. He has a killer smile, and he's super friendly. See below!

Amber is an awesome mommy! She really loves Carson, and he knows it!!

Then, my kiddos had a great time. Elizabeth took off her shoes and scampered in the grass and flowers. Sadly, she wound up with many ant bites. She's doing much better today, just red little marks on her feet where those nasty ants had a field day.

This last one cracks me up. Amber brought a bunny as a prop for the pics. Elizabeth took a real shine to the bunny. ( I must say he was very life-like.) She put him out in the "field" and asked us to take a picture. So creative and funny!

The Chick-Fil-A Cow!!

Friends, allow me to begin by apologizing for how long it's been since my last update. I knew it'd been a while when I went to type in the address of my blog, and had to stop and think about what it was. EEK! Thanks for your patience and (gentle?) prodding to get back in the game. It is much appreciated. :)

And without further ado, allow me to tell you what we did tonight. Some of you know that Matt is out of the country. He is in East Asia getting the awesome opportunity to meet with and teach national believers. He and a couple of other pastors have been there since last Wednesday. He returns this Friday. A long time, you say? Well, not when you have awesome friends like the Uptons who invite you out to dinner, not just to eat but to see the Chick-Fil-A cow!! Seriously, this was such a sweet and fun evening. We couldn't have asked for a better evening: good food, good friends, a 6-foot cow decorated for St. Patrick's Day... Check it out below!

This one's for Daddy!

Here you see Maxwell and Elizabeth lovin' on this cow. Seriously, their joy for him was contagious. :)

Then, somehow they got the cow to dance with them.

Not wanting to be outdone, Abigail also interacted with the cow. Frankly, I was impressed that for one so small, she had no qualms about getting cozy with something that was quite literally 5x her size.
